What is Pregnancy Reflexology?

Pregnancy Reflexology can help you in a number of ways throughout this exciting time of your life. It uses a gentle applied pressure of the finger tips to recognised pressure points on the foot. Each of these points relates to a particular organ or part of the body and the aim is to improve their effectiveness by relieving pain and stress which in turn helps to promote a relaxed and general feeling of well-being.

During my reflexology sessions I may also include specific pressure points of the hands and ears too to support this.

Pregnancy Reflexology is ideal to help with:

  • Digestion
  • Constipation
  • Anxiety
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Morning sickness
  • Aches and pains such as groin or pelvic pain
  • Physical and emotional issues post delivery

If you are looking for Pregnancy Reflexology in Rayleigh I would love to support you. Your first appointment will include an initial consultation to record details and familiarise me with your individual circumstances. It is important to me that you always feel empowered and listened to.

Previous clients have commenced treatments at different stages before, during and after pregnancy and treatments can be adapted as you reach a new trimester ensuring I address your individual needs at all times.

Please contact me prior to booking an appointment as it is advisable to avoid Pregnancy Reflexology in the first few weeks of gestation. Typically it is safe after your first scan at about 14 weeks.

What is Pregnancy Massage?

What is Pregnancy Massage?

Where reflexology can be used to promote the functionality of a specific part the body, pregnancy massage aims to reduce muscular tension which in turn can minimise pain helping you to achieve a more relaxing and enjoyable pregnancy. It is also the perfect way to safely relieve swollen ankles and feet!

I use a mix of massage techniques, along with different aromatherapy oils, tailored to each individual client’s needs. Kneading tight muscles is a vital part of this along with applying pressure to affected areas. However during a pregnancy massage I use only gentle pressure along with massage oils that have been determined safe to use during gestation.

What is the best position for a pregnancy massage?
For the safety of you and your baby all pregnancy massages are undertaken lying on your side. I have plenty of cushions and pillows to make sure you will be comfortable.

If you think you could benefit from a relaxing pregnancy massage here in Rayleigh, please get in touch. Your first appointment will include a detailed consultation about your general health, preferred birth plans and any problems you may be experiencing.

Whether you are in the early stages or planning ahead before reaching that tricker third trimester a pregnancy massage could really help.

Massage and Reflexology for Babies and Children

The benefits of massage for children and babies are well documented and widely used across NHS settings. Massage releases Serotonin into the body which can help to alleviate stress and anxiety and of course the sensation of touch can also be very reassuring and is an excellent way to help to promote sleep in a restless baby or anxious child.

Reflexology can be used to help resolve issues including:

  • Autism
  • Special Educational Needs
  • Asthma
  • Feeding, Colic and Reflux
  • Digestive issues such as constipation
  • Teething

You may be concerned and wondering is reflexology safe for children. It is widely used in many professional settings from birth and I will always discuss in detail any treatment plans with you.

Treatment Sessions
A detailed initial consultation will form much of our first session. In some cases it can be beneficial to do this beforehand when we can discuss everything thoroughly and sort a plan of action, regularity of treatment etc.

I can explain what to expect and how the therapy can help. It also gives you as parents or guardians the opportunity to ask questions and feel fully informed going forward meaning my first meeting with your child will be as calm and effective as possible.
